Popular items: sterling charms & figural pins*
My first significant piece of jewellery was a sterling charm bracelet loaded with tons of sterling silver charms marking every family vacation & important event. During the 1960’s and early 1970’s, charm bracelets were still popular. Fans of this bracelet did NOT follow the “Less is More” rule. Conversely, the main objective of this bracelet was “CHARM OVERLOAD”. I followed this objective to the extreme by double filling every link. “BEAU STERLING” was the mark on the majority of my sterling charms. My local independent jewelry store or the larger department store 25 miles away always kept a wide range of “BEAU STERLING” charms in stock. I could usually find “BEAU” charms at boutiques and souvenir shops when on a family vacation.
“BEAU” charms were widely perceived as THE BEST charm available. The quality of the workmanship and materials combined with a reasonable price made “Beau Sterling” extremely desirable in past decades as well as in the present.”
